- Common Mode Chokes
DLW21SN670SQ2L is a common mode choke products from the TDK-Lambda Corporation. It is used as an electromagnetic interference (EMI) filter in certain electronic circuits. This type of choke is characterized by its high inductance and is useful in suppressing differential mode noise and also has an excellent common mode noise suppression capability.
Common mode choke is used to reduce unwanted currents and noise that can be found in the differential and common-mode signals. It acts as an impedance between two conductors and rejects EMI noise and maintains the common-mode and differential-mode signals in balance. Common mode chokes can also reduce interference and crosstalk between various system components, as well as to prevent ground looping, which is a common source of problems in digital systems.
The working principle of common mode choke is quite simple. It consists of a number of windings of wire which is wrapped around a ferromagnetic core. When there’s a current running through the windings, it causes a magnetic field to be induced in the ferromagnetic core. The core then acts as a choke and captures much of the high-frequency noise, blocking it from escaping to other components in the system. The higher the number of windings, the more effective the choke.
DLW21SN670SQ2L is especially suitable for applications where the common mode choke must absorb both high-frequency noise and high current. It is used in a variety of EMI filtering applications such as automotive and industrial motor control systems, power converters and power supplies, as well as in consumer electronics applications. It is also designed to reduce EMI emissions to meet FCC, VDE and CE requirements.
