DM163035 is an evaluation board embedded with MCU and DSP that offers a broad array of features and options for a wide variety of applications. It is designed to further the ability of design engineers to easily test and evaluate their designs quickly, efficiently and cost effectively. The purpose of this evaluation board is to enable quick prototyping, code evaluation, and emulation of a wide range of applications.
The board can be easily connected to a PC for software development and to take advantages of the debugging features of a commercial IDE like CoIDE. The development environment associated with the board is specifically designed to simplify system design and development. It is built to be highly configurable, allowing for various memory footprints and operating frequencies.
The board is powered by a 72MHz Cortex-M3 core. It also provides plenty of analog interface peripherals such as DAC, ADC, timers and GPIO for various applications. This evaluation board is designed for embedded DSP and MCU applications that require high performance real-time processing for both signal conditioning and general purpose computation. It offers designers the flexibility to explore a range of processing solutions.
The board integrates several DSP components such as a Direct Memory Access Controller (DMAC) and 62 DSP instructions which increases the efficiency of signal process tasks. The board also comes integrated with a SPI and CAN protocol bus for further extends control and communication protocol applicability. This board is also compatible with various development tools and can be configured easily.
The board is equipped with a lot of useful hardware features such as various standard interfaces and connectors, push button switches, LEDs and a potentiometer. The board can be powered from either an external power supply or from a USB port. It has been designed to allow an easy access to all pins used by the embedded MCU and DSP, which provides developers the flexibility to design and develop various kinds of applications.
The working principle of this board is fairly straight-forward. It is based on a typical Harvard architecture which consists of an instruction memory, a data memory and a resource memory. The instruction memory stores the program code, which defines the instruction that will be executed by the processor, and resource memory stores fixed-function hardware elements such as DMA controllers and Timers. The data memory stores variables used while executing the program.
The board has the ability to send and receive packets of data, allowing for effective communication in applications such as industrial control, robotics, and image processing. The board has dedicated ports for Serial Peripherals Interface (SPI) and Controller Area Network (CAN) protocols which enable communication with other peripherals. It is also possible to connect the board to a PC, using the USB port for faster development or debugging. Data can be transferred from/to the PC to the board using the Serial Wire Debugger (SWD) protocol.
This evaluation board provides a flexible platform for developers to test out their design ideas without too much complexity. The integrated features make it a perfect choice for applications that require real-time processing, high speed data exchange and communication. It offers a great way to quickly evaluate and prototype designs without the need for complex engineering.
