DME2W2P7K-F Application Field and Working Principle

The DME2W2P7K-F is an AC Film Capacitor from DME2 line, made with X2 Polypropylene Dielectric Film, Metallized Electrodes and with an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, using self-healing and low-loss technologies. The capacitance of the capacitor can be up to 2.2μF, and the rated voltage can range from 275VAC to 500VAC.The primary application fields of the DME2W2P7K-F are: Constant power circuits, Harmonic suppression filters in inverter systems, Power factor correction, General filter and compensation circuits in industrial application. The principle of the DME2W2P7K-F is the same as other film capacitors. It consists of two metal plates and a dielectric film between them. When the AC voltage is superimposed on the capacitor, an electric field is generated between the two metal plates. The electric field has an effect on the bonded molecules of the dielectric film, especially the dipole components of the molecules. The dipole components of the molecules will be aligned with the electric field alongside with their opposite faces to the two metal plates. That is, the dipole components form orientations between the two metal plates. As a result, a polarized electric field is generated and stored between the two metal plates, which buffers the AC voltage. Thus, the capacitor works as a voltage buffer for the circuits.The X2 Polypropylene Dielectric Film is what makes the DME2W2P7K-F so effective. Compared with other films like PE, PP and PET, X2 film has unique characteristics that boosts its performance even further. The X2 material has a very good thickness stability and low dielectric dissipation factor. The stability and low dissipation factor of X2 make it very suitable for AC applications that require minimum energy loss and high accuracy. Furthermore, it also increases the life time of the DME2W2P7K-F.
