Film Capacitors

Film capacitors, also called film-dielectric capacitors, produce a high-tolerance capacitor that is reliable and stable even in the presence of temperature and humidity extremes. The technology uses a thin plastic or metal film coated with a dielectric material. As a result, film capacitors are used in a wide variety of electronic devices, from high-end audio equipment to medical equipment and consumer products.In the DME6P12K application field, film capacitors are widely used in DC-DC converters, line filters, and industrial applications. This allows the capacitors to operate in wide temperature and frequency ranges without compromising performance.In terms of working principle, the DME6P12K film capacitor is designed with a polymeric dielectric which allows it to be charged and discharged for shorter or longer periods of time. With a film capacitor, electric charge is stored in a polymeric dielectric layer. When an electrical signal is applied to the film capacitor, the molecules of the polymeric dielectric layer become oppositely charged, resulting in a potential difference between the two electrodes. This potential difference enables an electrical current to flow through the capacitor. The energy stored in the film capacitor is then used to power electrical components.When a voltage is applied across the film capacitor, the electric field strength that builds up inside the capacitor varies with the property of the dielectric layer. This causes the capacitance to change as the voltage is varied. This is referred to as the voltage coefficient of capacitance (or UCC). The voltage coefficient of capacitance of the DME6P12K film capacitor is optimized to ensure that the device can work reliably under higher voltage conditions.The DME6P12K film capacitor also has an intrinsic temperature coefficient. This coefficient, known as the relative temperature coefficient of capacitance (or RTC), is an important quality factor for the capacitor as it measures how the capacitance of the device changes with changes in temperature. The RTC of the DME6P12K film capacitor is optimized to ensure excellent performance and reliability.Finally, the DME6P12K film capacitor has a combination of leakage current and loss tangent values that create the strong filtering capabilities of the device. The leakage current of the DME6P12K is minimized to ensure that any electrical noise is kept within acceptable levels, while the loss tangent value ensures that the device can still provide high levels of performance and reliability.
