Working Principle

The DME6P33K-F series film capacitors are based on a polyester carrier film with a polypropylene dielectric material. The capacitors have a curved poly-film with metalized and insulated electrodes. This construction gives the capacitors enhanced safety features enabling operation at higher temperature and higher voltage ratings and higher levels of volumetric efficiency.In operation, the film capacitor functions in a similar way to other types of capacitors. In essence, a capacitor stores electrical energy like a bucket stores water, with the two metal plates as the buckets and the dielectric material as the water.
