Pressure Sensors

A pressure sensor is a device that detects and measures pressure and pressure variations. DP3-20 Application Field and Working Principle

The DP3-20 series of pressure transducers are designed for measuring low pressures in the range from 0.5 to 3.0 bar. They feature a wide temperature range from -20 to +60°C, low operating voltage of 9-12 VDC, and an accuracy of 0.2 % VFS. The electronics of the sensor are encapsulated in a stainless steel housing and manufactured in accordance with ISO 9000 standards.

The DP3-20 series is designed to be used in a wide variety of applications, such as medical, HVAC, industrial, automotive, and aerospace applications. The sensors are suitable for use in applications involving liquids or gases, and are able to measure pressure up to 3.0 bar. The sensors feature a low power consumption of 15 mA and a pressure range from 0.5 to 3.0 bar.

The working principle of the DP3-20 series is that the pressure is measured using a piezoresistive sensor element which is mounted between two metal diaphragms. Pressure is applied to the diaphragms, which causes them to strain and deform. These deformations cause electrical signals in the sensing element, which are then amplified and processed to generate an output voltage proportional to the applied pressure. The output voltage is then sent to either an external display or a computer for further processing.
