AC DC Converters

During a negative half-cycle, the two positive diodes become reverse-biased and do not conduct, while the two negative diodes become forward-biased and conduct. During both halves of the AC cycle, the two diodes in each half-cycle conduct alternately, directing current through the load.The model also includes two capacitors which act as filters and help smooth the DC output. The capacitors absorb the voltage ripples (peaks and valleys) that occur during the AC cycle. As a result, the DC voltage remains relatively constant even with AC input voltage fluctuations.
