The DPS58-M AC/DC Desktop/Wall Adapter represents a small, high efficiency synchronous switch-mode power converter. Buck-Boost topology is a step-up and step-down power conversion scheme in which power switches are used in flyback mode to transfer energy from the input voltage to the output voltage. This method is used to convert an AC input voltage to a steady DC output voltage, regardless of whether the AC input is higher or lower than the DC output voltage.In the DPS58-M, a Dual Buck topology is used, which enables the output voltage to have both positive and negative polarity. This is accomplished by independently controlling two independent Buck converters, allowing for high output current accuracy and improved power conversion efficiency. The dual Buck design enables the output voltage to remain consistent and stable, regardless of the variations in input voltage.In order to achieve high efficiency in the DPS58-M, the AC input voltage passes through an AC/DC voltage converter, which then passes it through a low-pass filter. This filter removes any high frequency components, preventing any switching noise from entering the DC power output. The input voltage then passes through a rectifier diode, which converts the AC voltage into a DC voltage. This DC voltage is then regulated by a controller and passed through a power switch, providing a DC output voltage from the primary side of the adapter.Finally, in order to ensure that the output voltage remains constant and stable, the DPS58-M uses a feedback circuit.
