1. Describe

The DRV10975RHFR device is a three-phase sensorless motor driver with integrated power MOSFETs capable of delivering up to 1.5A of continuous drive current. The device is designed for cost sensitive, low noise, low external component count applications. The DRV10975 device uses a proprietary sensorless control scheme to provide continuous sinusoidal drive, which significantly reduces the pure-tone acoustics typically associated with commutation. The device interface design is simple and flexible. Motors can be directly controlled via PWM, analog or I2C inputs. Motor speed feedback is available through the FG pin or I2C. The DRV10975 device has an integrated buck regulator that effectively steps down the supply voltage to 5 or 3.3 V to power internal and external circuits. The device can be used in sleep mode or standby mode versions to save power when the motor is not running. The standby mode (4.5-mA) version keeps the regulator running, while the sleep mode (80-µA) version turns it off. Use the standby mode version in applications that use a voltage regulator to power an external microcontroller.

        – Boot configuration files that can be customized using EEPROM

        – Forward and reverse control with DIR pin

6. Application Information

The DRV10975RHFR is used for sensorless three-phase BLDC motor control. This driver provides a high performance, reliable, flexible and simple solution for appliance fans, pumps and HVAC applications. For the DRV10975Z sleep mode device, the Zener diode must be connected in parallel with the 10µF VREG capacitor. The following connection sequence should be followed to avoid Hot switching and floating, can cause reliability issues: 1 - GND, 2 - VCC, 3 - PWM, 4 - FG. When VCC >2.2V, the order of FG and PWM does not matter. Always make sure FG <=VCC.
