Evaluation and Demonstration Boards and Kits
The DRV201AEVM, or Texas Instruments DRV201A Evaluation Module, is an evaluation and demonstration board for engineers, technicians, and development teams that require a rapid start towards designing, verifying and testing circuits that utilize DRV201A motor drivers. This board is a component in the broad range of evaluation modules and demonstration boards that are available and designed to facilitate the prototyping, design and analysis of products and applications.
The DRV201AEVM board is a high-accuracy, low-power stepper motor driver with a current rating from 0.6~1.1Amps, and it features an adjustable current limit. The DRV201 and its module provide a high-power MOSFET switch-mode output with low ripple. The on-board TMS27957 LED display allows one to accurately adjust each of the registers for current control as well as the necessary clamping circuitry for the stepper motor.
The DRV201AEVM board is ideal for a wide range of applications such as robotics, automation, medical, and other high-performance designs. Although it is primarily intended for stepper motors, the DRV201AEVM offers a range of features and benefits which make it suitable not only for stepper motor applications, but for industrial and commercial applications as well.
The DRV201AEVM is extremely easy to use. All the components are mounted on the board and the module includes an analog voltage level converter. When the board is connected to the power supply, the user can open the switch through a touch screen interface and choose the desired speed and power settings. The module also features detect logic input, fault protection and adjustable current limit.
The DRV201A motor driver is a high-performance, low-power device containing numerous integrated features, such as non-volatile memory, high-accuracy current control, and high-gain version of MOSFET gate driver. The DRV201AEVM board is designed to provide the customer with an accurate and easy-to-use development platform. The board supports up to 1A of continuous motor current, and up to 2A in some cases. The board provides a set of inputs to setup and control the motor driver.

With a few simple steps, one can quickly develop a motor control system that supports arbitrary current and voltage settings.
