The DRV2605L is an advanced haptic driver IC integrated with a low power ARM® Cortex™-M0 processor core and a rich set of haptic, audio and voice feedback algorithms from the TI Precision Labs™ library. It is designed to deliver the highest quality haptic effects in the most efficient way possible. It is integrated with a powerful yet low power 32-bit ARM Cortex-M0 processor and has unrestricted access to the TI Precision Labs library. The DRV2605L is an ideal solution for consumer and industrial applications requiring tactile feedback such as gaming controllers, consumer electronics, automotive, smart home appliances, mobile phones, and more.
The DRV2605L delivers powerful and efficient haptic effects with minimal power consumption and an unparalleled level of integration. It offers the most comprehensive range of haptic effects and features including the TI Precision Labs library which includes the world’s widest range of haptic algorithms, from basic amplitude and frequency based effects to higher order effects that are tailored to specific applications. These algorithms are organized into haptic effect packs designed for users to quickly and easily get started with haptic feedback. The DRV2605L also offers a variety of audio and voice feedback functions, allowing users to quickly integrate audio and voice feedback into their applications.
The working principle is based on a feedback circuit that uses a set of electrodes connected to a tiny capacitor. A haptic effect is generated when an AC voltage is applied across the small capacitance. The voltage is applied using a high-voltage charge pump or dynamic control that modulates the industry\'s highest-voltage haptic drivers in the DRV2605L. This ensures that haptic effects are triggered with high precision and accuracy and with the maximum possible frequency.
The DRV2605L is capable of delivering output voltages up to 50V peak-to-peak and currents up to 1.2A peak-peak, making it ideal for delivering a wide range of haptic effects. In addition to high-voltage and high-current haptic drivers, the DRV2605L also includes a low-voltage haptic driver that can be used to deliver audio and voice feedback. It is also integrated with a digital MEMS microphone and voice control capabilities to enable the use of voice commands in applications.
