DRV2511Q1EVM is an automotive-grade motor driver evaluation and demonstration board and kit, developed to demonstrate the features of DRV2511Q-EP gate driver ICs. It provides power and control to popular DC brushless motors, such as BLDCs, stepper motors and fan motors. The DRV2511Q1EVM allows users to evaluate the ability of the DRV2511Q-EP to minimize cross-conduction current, achieve higher efficiency, and control many motors simultaneously.
The DRV2511Q1EVM features a robust DC-DC driver support circuit, capable of supplying the power required for up to 18 channels of driving. The device incorporates over-voltage protection, current-limit protection, and PWM pulse-width modulation, and is especially designed for wide-temperature automotive applications. It is capable of providing up to 3A continuous drive current, and 7A peak current. The DRV2511Q1EVM also supports advanced fault diagnostic features, provides synchronization input and output function, and supports three-phase sensing.
The DRV2511Q1EVM is designed for use in applications such as motor control, robotic control, and HVAC automation systems. The board includes all the necessary components for powering and controlling your motor. It is capable of driving both permanent magnet and inductive brushless motors, as well as universal motors. The board is also equipped with two 100-pin connectors and an onboard CAN bus port to allow communications with external devices.
The circuit arrangement of the DRV2511Q1EVM includes level-shift diodes to reduce the gate drive voltage and protect the I/Os of the IC from transient over-voltage. To provide drive current for the motor, each channel of the board includes a DBC (Digital Base Coil) boost driver. The board also contains an on-chip power feedback circuit, which adapts the boost drive voltage to the output voltage.
In addition, the DRV2511Q1EVM includes an embedded PWM driver module that integrates logic circuit, phase-lock loop, and a PWM generator into a single IC. This eliminates the need for an external PWM controller and simplifies system design. The PWM generator also supports a wide range of frequencies from 1kHz to 32kHz, enabling high-speed motor control applications.
The DRV2511Q1EVM is designed for applications that need a wide temperature range. The operating temperature range of the device is from -40 °C to +125 °C, allowing it to be used in demanding automotive applications. In addition, the board\'s components are designed to withstand high temperature and operate reliably in the presence of electromagnetic interference (EMI).
The DRV2511Q1EVM is suitable for use in a variety of automotive applications, such as steering and braking systems, power-assisted steering (EPS), electric vehicle power system, active suspension system, valve control, transmission system, and traction control system.
