1. Describe

The DRV5055A2QDBZT is a linear Hall-effect sensor that responds proportionally to magnetic flux density. This device can be used for precise position sensing in a wide range of applications. The device operates from a 3.3V or 5V supply. When no magnetic field is present, the analog output drives half of VCC. The output varies linearly with the applied magnetic flux density, and four sensitivity options allow for maximum output voltage swing based on the desired sensing range. The north and south magnetic poles generate a unique voltage. Magnetic flux is sensed perpendicular to the top of the package, and the two package options offer different sensing directions. The device uses a ratiometric architecture that eliminates VCC tolerance errors when an external analog-to-digital converter (ADC) uses the same VCC as its reference. In addition, the device features magnet temperature compensation, which cancels out how the magnet drifts, resulting in linear performance over a wide temperature range of –40°C to 125°C. Device options without magnetic drift temperature compensation are also available.
