Working Principle

The DS080 snap action, limit switches are composed of two main parts, the actuator and the switch mechanism. The actuator lever is spring loaded to normally open or normally closed position. When the actuator lever is depressed or released, it triggers the switch mechanism which then energizes or de-energizes the contacts.

The actuator arm is designed such that when it is pressed it creates a slight rotation of a switch lever. This rotation of the switch lever energizes the contacts which close and the circuit is completed. Releasing the actuator arm disconnects the contacts which opens the circuit.
