Working Principle
The working principle of the DS1023S-50+ begins with the reference clock input. The reference clock input is buffered by a high-speed buffer amplifier, and the clock signal is passed through a pair of delay lines. The delay line pairs include a trigger delay line and a buffer delay line. The trigger delay line is used to synchronize signals, while the buffer delay line is used to buffer the clock signals. The buffers used to amplify the clock signals are driven by a high-performance Voltage Controlled Oscillator (VCO). The VCO is the heart of the DS1023S-50+. It is a precision tuned VCO which generates a 50-MHz signal for good frequency-setting range accuracy. The clock frequencies can be adjusted between 10-50MHz. The VCO can also be locked to a reference clock for frequency acquisition and stability. The frequency of the VCO can be tuned by a programmable 16-bit divider.
