。DS1501WS is a Real Time Clock (RTC) chip, manufactured by Dallas Semiconductor, now part of Maxim Integrated. DS1501WS is highly integrated, and is powered by a 32 kHz watch crystal and an ultra thin button cell battery. It is designed to provide a reliable time and date reference, enabling embedded systems to accurately keep track of time, even when power is disconnected.DS1501WS is ideally suited to a wide range of applications, such as networking, server and messaging products, medical equipment, ATMs and access control, industrial automation, and wireless applications such as cellular phones, personal digital assistants (PDAs) and home automation systems.The DS1501WS is a CMOS RTC and provides a time base signal in the range of 10 seconds to several hours with an accuracy of +/‐10ppm, which equates to about 1 minute per month. It features two user programmable alarms and two output drivers for external indication or other control functions.The DS1501WS has three operating modes: Normal, Low Power, and Time Count. In the Normal mode, the device uses the 32 kHz watch crystal and an internal oscillator to provide the time base signal from which all other timing is derived. The Low Power mode is a sleep mode that reduces the power consumption of the device. The Time Count mode enables accurate count of long periods of time, such as minutes, hours and days.In addition to the time and date functions, the DS1501WS offers a range of power management capabilities. It can be configured to enter Low Power mode automatically when a predetermined level of battery voltage is reached, or it can be configured to enter the Time Count mode to provide accurate time and date information while the main system is powered down.The DS1501WS also offers a range of system options. It can be configured to generate an interrupt on a predefined alarm time or on one of two user programmable timers. It also features an internal temperature sensor for monitoring and protection.The DS1501WS has numerous features and applications, making it an effective solution for time-sensitive embedded systems. It is an ideal choice for time and date reference, and can be easily integrated into a variety of industrial and consumer devices.
