The analog output of the DS1631AU/T&R provides a linear voltage proportional to the temperature range of -20°C to +105°C, and the digital output provides a digital value from 0 to 0xFFFF corresponding to the same temperature range. The resolution of the device is factory set to 10-bit, which means that it can accurately measure temperature to 1/4°C accuracy. The EEPROM memory available on the chip is used to store user-defined values, such as temperature alarm thresholds, which can be read or written programmatically.
