The temperature sensor embedded in the supervisor continuously monitors for thermal events by monitoring the on-chip junction temperature. When the junction temperature reaches a preset critical temperature, the supervisor enters an active thermal protection state, which signals the system to reduce the processor performance and clock frequency in order to prevent overheating. The two on-chip voltage monitored and control block are selectable via digital pins. This allows the device to set up into various voltage sensing/control options, including oscillator start-up, power-on reset, voltage supervisor, and OTP reset functions. The power-on reset block monitors the input voltage levels, while the voltage supervisor block monitors and compares the input voltage level against the level set by the shutdown threshold. The voltage comparator block provides an active-low output when the input voltage is below the set threshold.
