The DS1813R-5/T&R reset supervisor provides five selectable reset outputs voltage. System reset can be controlled by two main signals: Power Good (PG) and Reset Input (RI). The PG provides an interface between the voltage regulators, DC-DC converter, and system processor and is used to monitor the power supply for proper operation. The RI is used to control reset asserted and de-asserted states. Reset asserted is signaled to the processor when the voltage on the power supply falls below the user-defined threshold. Reset de-asserted is signaled when the voltage on the power supply rises above the user-defined threshold.

By combining the reset supervisor with precision voltage monitoring reference, the DS1813R-5/T&R can be used to monitor the system voltage at different points, thereby providing the tightest possible control of the voltage. The precision voltage monitor references can be latched to the reset state when a fault occurs, providing reliable system reset on over-voltage, under-voltage, and brown-out conditions. Additionally, the DS1813R-5/T&R provides an adjustable auto-retry reset that helps to suppress false reset assertions, increasing system reliability and performance.

The device also provides adjustable reset time-out duration and tighter reset threshold; preventing the system from resetting unnecesarrily during fault conditions.
