A PMIC (Power Management Integrated Circuit) is an electronic circuit, designed to control and/or monitor a number of power functions within a system. The DS1836AS-10+T&R PMIC Supervisor is a versatile mixed-signal integrated circuit, designed to provide a completely automated, highly efficient power management solution for digital and mixed signal systems. It integrates all the power management functions, necessary in many portable applications, into a single, easy to use device. The device is capable of regulating both processor-level and general purpose voltage aware outputs, providing full control of the system’s power budget in order to achieve maximum energy efficiency.
The DS1836AS-10+T&R PMIC Supervisor offers a wide range of features that make it suitable for battery operated applications. These include low power consumption and DC power regulation capabilities, as well as advanced sequencing and sequencing control features. Additionally, it includes an integrated temperature sensor and can be used to monitor the voltage of an external battery, helping to ensure extended battery life in a wide range of applications.
The device features an integrated low power consumption (LP) power management regulator, which provides up to three regulated voltages, along with a three-channel capacitive discharge circuit, which enables voltage regulation of external components such as memory, microprocessor and other peripherals. In addition, the device integrates two configurable references, one for internal and one for external voltage regulation. This allows flexibility in the system design and allows for voltage regulation of the core voltage, as well as the system supplies.
The DS1836AS-10+T&R PMIC Supervisor is capable of providing both battery and AC regulation, as well as a power monitoring feature, which allows the system to automatically adjust the power output based on the current environment. Furthermore, it can also provide system power on/off control and advanced sequencing capabilities, allowing the system to automatically power up and down modules or peripherals in an orderly fashion.
