The DS28EL15GA+U is a cryptographic coprocessor and secureAuthentication for use with iButton® and Maxim Integrated OneWireEthernet™ products. TheDS28EL15GA+U also provides a platform to store sensitiveinformation and offers a secure memory key lockbox for protectionof valuable data.

The DS28EL15GA+U provides a total of 768 bits of secure memory capable of storing secrets, authentication codes, keys, and any other valuable data. The secure memory is divided into eight banks of 32 bytes (128 bits each). The first bank is the key lockbox and is used to store the sensitive data. Each bank can be independently locked or unlocked depending on its use. An executing program must have access to an area that is unlocked in order to access and manipulate any data stored in the secure memory.

The DS28EL15GA+U also provides a variety of cryptographic features including Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) which is a public-key cryptosystem designed for rapid use. ECC can be used for securely signing and exchanging of confidential data, as well as verifying message integrity.
