It is ideal for applications such as digitally controlled attenuation, balancing and regulation, current control, and voltage scaling.The DS2890-000+ is a full CMOS device that is available in an 8-pin SOIC package and has a zero ohm resistance and a fixed wiper resistance. The wiper resistance can be externally set from 1k ohm to 1M ohm and is programmable to any value within this range. Other features include a low on resistance, a wide range of operating temperatures from -40C to +85C, and low current consumption.Since this device is non-volatile, it can be programmed with a control voltage or a serial control protocol for storing the start count, data increment, and the number of cycles.
