Working Principle

The DS485M is a serial transceiver that includes a driver, a receiver, and a high-speed logic interface. It supports full-duplex and half-duplex communication modes. It has the function of address matching and broadcasting mode. The driver works in two different modes, transformer coupled and dual-in-line isolation mode. The receiver operating mode is different, which is single-ended.The driver of the DS485M is designed to perform the necessary waveform and voltage level conversion between the logical 1 & 0 transmitted at the transmitting end and the corresponding physical waveform & voltage level at the receiving end of the communication line. It can convert the logic while simultaneously driving the transmission line and isolating the two communication ports of the system. The receiver can detect the logic to recover the logic state.The DS485M includes a high-speed logic control interface between the driver and the receiver function to facilitate data transmission from the microcontroller to the driver and from the receiver to the microcontroller. The data frame consists of a start bit, a data bit, and a parity bit. The receiver verifies the data frame by comparing the received data to the original data.
