RS485M is an RS485 transceiver chip, which is used to receive, transmit and implement serial data communication control. Application Field

The application field of the transceiver chip RS485M is mainly used to drive long-distance transmission and high-speed data exchange in industrial settings, such as industrial control, instrumentation and factory automation. Working Principle

The working principle of RS485M chip is to use embedded Reed-Solomon coding to achieve high-speed transmission. It sends out data bit by bit at a rate of up to 100mbps, with up to 128 devices on the bus. The chip supports four different kinds of data encoding methods: NRZ, Manchester, MLT3 and Scrambler.

The receiver circuit of RS485M offers improved EMI/RFI immunity and data collision avoidance. An internal comparator is adopted for signal detection. It can detect signals in the presence of large interference, and minimize signal distortion by controlling the larger voltage drop in the receivers. The chip also offers operation in hot-plugging environment, which makes it suitable for rapid field operation.

The RS485M transceiver can be used in a wide variety of voltage levels, including 5V, 3V and 1.8V, depending on application requirements. It also offers an adjustable power consumption of 0.5 to 2A, which offers flexibility in design of power saving applications. Moreover, the chip also includes built-in protection circuits to protect against abnormal power supply and short-circuits.
