The DS64BR111EVK/NOPB is an evaluation and demonstration board which not only provides an excellent platform for users to study and test the capabilities of an integrated system, but also functions as an advanced proof-of-concept system for their custom analog/digital applications. This board features a robust selection of analog and digital components, and offers a rich variety of useful features in addition to the powerful and flexible ARM processors on board.
The main application fields of the DS64BR111EVK/NOPBinclude industrial automation, medical imaging and analysis, scientific research, video encoding/decoding, virtual reality, automotive, and consumer electronics. It can also be used as a prototyping and development platform for quick evaluation and rapid prototyping of customer designs.
The DS64BR111EVK/NOPB has an onboard ARM Coretex R4F processor, which is capable of providing multiple on-chip peripherals, memories, direct digital synthesis (DDS), communications interfaces, peripherals, power management, and FPGA logic synthesis tools. The primary bus-controller is the ATMEL/Kronus IQ, and along with the secondary high-speed synchronous bus controllers, it provides up to 512 MB of RAM and 16 MB of flash memory. Additionally, the board also provides additional microcontroller cores, such as the Cortex M1 and R5F6. This board also features an on-board LCD display, which can be used to display pictures, text, or data logged from sensor and peripheral devices.
The DS64BR111EVK/NOPB is based on the ARM Cortex-R4F and is capable of executing real-time operations at high speed. The board boasts a real-time operating system (RTOS), embedded software development environment (SDK), and a wide range of design software tools, including the MW2806, a powerful graphical user interface (GUI) for debugging of the board’s functionality. The board features two External Serial-Peripheral Bus (SPI) Interfaces (an asynchronous, five-channel interface, and a synchronous/DFM interface), a four-channel differential analog-to-digital converter (ADC), and an internal ADC subsystem. It also supports up to four analog channels and two digital lines, each with 64-bit resolution.
The DS64BR111EVK/NOPB provides 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit data types, as well as the sophisticated 32-bit floating-point data type. The board is capable of executing compute intensive applications, including complex mathematical and logical operations. It runs on low latency, low power, and low-cost flash memory and supports up to 512KB of external RAM. Additionally, it supports a variety of embedded sensors, such as a temperature sensor, accelerometers, and digital-to-analog converters (DACs).
The DS64BR111EVK/NOPB allows users to quickly and easily develop real-time applications with its integrated set of development tools and enterprise-level features. It supports a wide range of third-party development tools, such as Eclipse IDE, CodeWarrior, IAR IDE, and Keil C51. The board can also interface with a range of external debugging and analysis tools, including the popular oscilloscope and logic analyzer.
