The DS8923AMX/NOPB is a three state level translator for High-Voltage (HV) CAN (Controller Area Network) applications. It helps to provide optimized signal buffering betwEEN nodes (devices) in systems operating in both directions at different voltages, which is essential in achieving reliable, efficient and safe communications. It has two Fail-Safe input buffers which make sure that the device switches to a High-impedance state in case of an unexpected input condition, minimizing the effects of improper buses or physical disturbances on the system.The DS8923AMX/NOPB is an interface technology device that provides an absolute galvanic isolation of electrical components (including power, ground, etc.) and can be used for communication b/w nodes operating at different potentials. This device deals with the Large-Voltage and over-current issues that could occur in a CAN network especially in a large space or area. It makes use of a low-side switch and switching of the High-side switch where the Fail-Safe Multiplexers form a High-Voltage subsystem. The device offers maximum adaptation to the conditions of the system by using a very low quiescent current, very low capacitances and very low resistances.It combines the flexibility of multiplexers, the protection of failsafe input buffers, the High-Voltage Driven Digital Buffers, and most importantly, galvanic isolation. In the event of an unusual input condition or disturbance, the device switches to a High-impedance state, thus providing minimized effects on the system. This device’s data Transfer rate is 20MBits/second and is widely used in automotive applications such as airbags, brakes and safety systems. It’s also widely used in communication networks requiring long-distance communications, telecom and industrial control applications.The DS8923AMX/NOPB is a versatile device that works effectively in both high-voltage and low-voltage applications. It allows power, ground and control signals to be transferred between two nodes in the application. It has two Fail-Safe input buffers that help make sure the device is in a High-impedance state in case of an unexpected input condition. It also offers high-level of protection against any physical disturbances. It also has a low-side switch and a high-side switch, which can be switched as needed depending on the amount of isolation needed.
