The maxDCohArm9™ microcontroller family from Maxim Integrated Products is ideal for embedded applications. It is an industry-standard RISC microcontroller designed for embedded systems with an ISA core which can scale from 8-bit to 32-bit. One of the members of this family is the DS89C420-ECL. This is the first low-power surface-mounted ARM9 microcontroller with an on-chip Ethernet MAC.

The DS89C420-ECL has many features that make it suitable for embedded applications such as embedded networking, home and building automation, industrial automation, consumer electronics, automotive and medical. It utilizes state-of-the-art technology and is highly versatile, reliable and low-power.
