Pin Configurable/Selectable Oscillators (PCSOs) are one of the fastest growing new technologies for oscillators that can be easily adjusted and modified for a variety of different applications. The DSC2311KI2-R0011T model is one such PCSO that offers a wide range of capabilities for many different types of applications.

The DSC2311KI2-R0011T PCSO was designed as a low cost, single component component solution for adjustable oscillator applications. It contains an integrated voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) and programmable logic unit (PLU) that can be programmed to generate various output frequencies. The VCO can be adjusted by inserting a single pin into a designated location in the component, while the PLU can be programmed via a serial interface. The component is very simple to set up and use, and provides highly accurate results with very minimal setup time.

The most important aspect of the DSC2311KI2-R0011T is its ability to be rapidly adjusted by end users. The component can be programmed to generate any frequency within the specified range of 5.120MHz, or higher if necessary. This makes the component ideal for applications such as frequency counter or filter, diode filter oscillator, pulse shaping, or phase locked loop applications.
