The DSC2311KI2-R0055T Pin Configurable/Selectable Oscillator is a highly integrated high-frequency clock synthesizer that combines an internal 29.49MHz fundamental oscillator core with an 8-level PLL and multiple dividers. It is a low-profile surface-mounted device that fits any PCB allowing for lower cost and higher integration into the system. The frequency output is adjustable between 8.333kHz and 461MHz, modulated by a 0° ErRatio of ±50ppm to ±150ppm in the range of 100kHz to 300MHz. Crystal load capacitance is also selectable in range of 8pF to 20pF, giving further flexibility.
The working principle of the DSC2311KI2-R0055T pin configurable oscillator is simple and efficient. After power-up, the integrated system controller reads the signal of the resistive ladder and the external capacitance setting voltage value, then sets the internal registers accordingly. After a successful calibration process, the internal PLL circuit can automatically search for and track a reference clock in a wide range of expected signal frequencies. The built-in oscillator and PLL can generate a wide range of frequencies with a high degree of accuracy. The frequency output is then modulated by a 0° Er ratio of ±50ppm to ±150ppm in the range of 100kHz to 300MHz.
