E18164 is a type of code-division duplex access technology which enables multiple broadcast receivers to receive data from several sources simultaneously. It is most widely used in Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) and Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) transmissions. In simplistic terms, E18164 works by coding and splitting a signal into multiple parts so that each part, or "data packet", preserves the important information contained in the original signal.
E18164 was first introduced in the late 1990s and is used predominantly in Europe and some parts of Asia. This technology operates in the VHF/UHF frequency range and is capable of providing high-speed data transfer rates with low interference and multipath reception.
E18164 is composed of a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter is typically powered by an antenna and works by encoding a signal so that it can be split into multiple parts. The signal is then split and each part is assigned a suitable frequency which allows several receivers to receive the signal simultaneously. The receiver is composed of an antenna which is connected to a receiver and demodulator which interprets the signal and reconstructs it for further processing.
In some instances, E18164 can also be used for digital video transmission. This is typically done by encoding a video signal and then transmitting the signal using several different frequencies. The receiver needs to decode and demodulate each of the components of the signal and recombine them into the original signal for further processing.
E18164 also offers various features which can be used to improve data transfer between the transmitter and the receiver. These include data encryption, frequency hopping, time diversity and multiuser transmission. Data encryption ensures that the data is not compromised during transmission. Frequency hopping and time diversity allow the signal to be sent on different frequencies at different times which reduces interference and multipath reception. Multiuser transmission allows multiple users to access the same data stream, while the transmitter and receiver are designed to detect which user is accessing the data stream and ensure that it remains secure.
E18164 is widely used in digital broadcasting and is also used for data transmission in mobile communication systems. This technology provides high speed data transfer rates, low interference and multipath reception. It also offers features such data encryption and frequency hopping which helps to improve data security and transmission quality.
