The EA6358NH Evaluation Board is a universal switch-mode device that can be used to drive monochrome or RGB LEDs in both the constant current and constant voltage states. It is able to switch to the appropriate mode depending on what the application demands. It includes three channels with a total current rating of 16A.
In order to achieve its impressive efficiency and cost-saving capabilities, the EA6358NH uses three control modes; dimming boost/buck, voltage boost/buck, and temporary boost/buck. In practice, this means that during the LED operation, the LED can be turned on at different levels of intensity or brightness without a decrease in efficiency. The device also allows for the output current to be dimmed or reduced without having to shut off the LED.
The EA6358NH is an ideal choice for applications such as LED Displays as it has a wide input range of 70-420Vac or 110-575Vac and is capable of operating at 70C ambient temperatures. It can operate on both single-phase and three-phase AC networks and is suitable for use with multiple LED models. The diode clamps that are integrated into the LED Driver can prevent dielectric breakdown, undervoltage, overvoltage, short circuit, over current and over temperature conditions. This makes it a secure, reliable and cost-effective choice.
The Working Principle of the EA6358NH is based on its integrated synchronous boost rectifying technology. It utilizes an active rectifying circuit to control the AC input and generate a DC output. The circuit is powered by a synchronous boost converter, which steps up the AC input voltage to an adjustable DC voltage. This DC voltage is then applied to the LED load and the output current is adjusted accordingly. In addition, the circuit utilizes green power technology to help reduce power consumption during operation. It provides low ripple voltage, consistent lighting and low power loss.
