Working Principle

At the beginning of each cycle, the integrated power switch (FET) is turned on. The inductor current rises linearly, driving the LED current. When the inductor current reaches its peak, the power switch is turned off, causing the current through the inductor to collapse. During this time, the energy stored in the output capacitor is delivered to the LED’s.
