ELM21603RD Application Field and Working PrincipleThe ELM21603RD Chip is a high-efficiency LED driver integrated circuit (IC) designed to drive multiple LED lamps in applications such as LED signs, LED message boards, LED backlights, LED lighting systems and LED displays. This chip is capable of controlling 3 channels (LED strings) of up to 150mA of forward current in each channel. ELM21603RD IC also provides an additional logic input pin to control the current in each of the 3 channels.The ELM21603RD chip provides three independent dimming control channels, each of which can be controlled using either pulse-width modulation (PWM) via the chip\'s internal voltage regulator stage, or by direct control from the external microcontroller control line. The ELM21603RD chip provides two logic input pins for each channel for PWM control and one logic input pin for direct control. The chip also provides one logic output pin for each channel for output state feedback.The ELM21603RD IC is suitable for powering a wide range of LED lamps, including general purpose LEDs, bar graph LEDs, dual-color LEDs, as well as light bars, arrays and other types of circuit board indicators. It is capable of both constant current source and constant voltage source operation, allowing it to be connected directly to supply voltages without the need for any external components.The ELM21603RD\'s forward current is adjustable via external resistors or the supplied internal voltage regulator stage, while the other parameters such as peak voltage, pulse width and forward current limit are all adjustable via external registers or the internal voltage regulator stage. The current in each of the three channels can also be controlled using the chip\'s logic input pins.The ELM21603RD chip\'s power supply voltage can be as low as 6V and as high as 60V.
