The EM3588-MLR-RF-C is a radio frequency transceiver module designed for short-range communications systems. It is a two-way module, which means it can both receive and transmit data. It is mainly used in applications such as metering, control, and industrial automation. It operates in the frequency spectrum of 2400 MHz to 2480 MHz and meets the RF performance requirements for open and secure systems.The module consists of two RF transceivers (a transmitter and a receiver), an antenna, a reference oscillator, a PLL, and a power amplifier. The transmitter part transmits the data in the form of radio waves while the receiver part receives the data. The reference oscillator generates a stable frequency signal used to control the operation of the module. The PLL (phase locked loop) locks the frequency of the transmitted signal to the reference oscillator’s frequency signal. Finally, the power amplifier boosts the strength of the transmitted signal.The EM3588-MLR-RF-C is designed to be integrated into existing systems. It is provided with an Application Layer Protocol (APL), which allows for easy integration of the default modulation scheme (ASK, FSK, OOK). The modular design minimizes the need for external components, thus providing a low-cost solution for small and medium enterprises. This module is also suitable for low power applications since it consumes low power while providing high link budget performance. The module is also small, measuring only 15 x 50 mm making it ideal for embedded solutions.The key feature of the EM3588-MLR-RF-C is the ability to support a wide range of modulation schemes – ASK, FSK, OOK – which allows it to be used in a variety of applications. This module provides 12 dB of link budget, which means it can reach a distance of up to 500 meters in open air. The modulation schemes supported by the module also include the frequency hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) which is used for secure communications. The transmit power of the module can be set to three levels namely low, medium, and high to meet the requirements for a particular application.The EM3588-MLR-RF-C module is designed for ease of use and integration into existing systems.
