EM357-RT is a RF transceiver ICs that provides a high-performance, low power, and cost effective 2.4‐GHz single-chip radio transceiver designed for applications that demand a short range at best. Its features include a fully integrated RF transceiver, data rate up to 2 Mbps (bit rate limitations depends on specific application and configurations), an on-chip protocol controller, 2 dedicated MCU interface ports, SPI slave up to 8+MHz, IR generator with 24 bit address space, 2 built-in 16 bit timers, ADC converter with 8 channels, 4 KB of RAM, Flash flash memory with 32 KB space, and PCB antenna options.

With its advanced features and capabilities, EM357-RT ensures reliable radio links and low latency communication between devices and systems. The chip can be used in many applications, including home automation, industrial monitoring and control, medical telemetry, remote sensors, industrial radio communication systems, building automation systems, and asset tracking systems.

The EM357-RT RF transceiver IC works on a FHSS mode, with its data rate usually up to 2 Mbps and up to hundreds of feet line-of-sight range. The FHSS uses Frequency hopping pulse position modulation (FHPPPM) to transmit and receive data, with multiple carriers occupying the same frequency range. The hopping between frequencies allows for lower power while also defeating most interfering radio signals. The FHSS also helps to reduce interference since it can rapidly switch frequency bands to avoid any radio encroachments and can rapidly double the available transmitting power.

The full-duplex operation of the EM357-RT also contributes to its overall efficiency and flexibility. It uses time division duplexing (TDD) to support both sends and receives at the same time, achieving smooth communication in real time and allowing the chip to control larger systems with greater consistency. The on-chip protocol stack simplifies the development of any system and rapidly makes it ready for commercial use.

The chip also supports enhanced anti-interference function. It employs the power control algorithm to enable the device to detect and evaluate the interference conditions in its communication range continually. When multiple interference sources interfere the data link, the chip is able to adjust the data rate accordingly to reduce the error rate.

The EM357-RT is ideal for applications that require low cost, low power radio communications, rapid frequency hopping, and fast transceiver performance. It is available in two packages, a 32-pin QFN and a 36-pin QFN, with frequencies running from 433 MHz to 4.8 GHz.
