The EP7312-CV-90 is an embedded microprocessor which has been developed by Cirrus Logic Inc. to provide robust and cost-effective performance in embedded applications. The device incorporates a full-featured ARM7TDMI processor core with a 32-bit RISC architecture and an extensive peripheral set. It is designed for use in a variety of embedded applications such as industrial automation, medical devices, automotive, portable communication devices, and consumer products. The device also incorporates an array of peripheral controllers and buses, such as the Enhanced DRAM Controller (EDC), System-on-Chip Bus (SoCBus), Power Management Bus (PMBus), Universal Synchronous/Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter (USART), Inter-Integrated Circuit (I2C), and two on-chip drivers for the Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI). In addition, the device also integrates an on-chip programmable logic array (PLA) for logic functions and programmable peripheral interface (PPI) for general purpose I/O operations.

The EP7312-CV-90 also features 12K words of on-chip program RAM and 8K words of code cache, allowing it to quickly execute time-sensitive applications or respond to user interaction. It also includes four timers, a watchdog timer, a real-time clock and an adjustable power supply monitor. The on-chip PCI interface allows the device to connect to external devices, such as high-speed digital processors, and provides high throughput performance. The device is also capable of operating at temperatures up to 70°C and is optimized for low power operation.
