The ETRX3DVK-IHD is a type of RF evaluation and development kit board with a range of diverse applications. It is a highly capable tool particularly intended to aid and, on the other hand, open-up a new vista of tested-out opportunities without having to break the bank.
The Board is pre-programmed with all the necessary firmware and software. As such, its is ready for initial setup and configuration. Its uses a high performance, low-power Atmel XMEGA A3BU Xplained Pro microcontroller and the worldwide-compliant EZRadioPRO 802.15.4 wireless sub-gigabit radio. Its develops the ETRX3DVK-IHD for managing up to 6 nodes of up to 10 nodes concurrently.
The back-end of the ETRX3DVK-IHD is equipped with an interface board that is connected to the backplane interface board, which allows the user to connect it to a personal computer. It is capable of connecting up to 6 nodes simultaneously, and allows complete control over all the device settings. It includes on-board isolated power supplies that are well-suited for hot-SPOT application and sensor node application development.
The Board can manage and control up to 6 nodes concurrently, using the latest ZigBee and ZigBit radio technologies. It has been designed with an on-board FTDI 2232H which is enabled via a shielded connector and provides up to 6 channels of software-controlled frequency adjustability. The FTDI 2232H also enables the ability to program the microcontroller with the latest device firmware.
ETRX3DVK-IHD is a Radio Frequency (Rf) evaluation and development kit and can be used for applications in the area of Smart Grid, Agriculture, Building Automation, Smart LED lighting, Industrial Control and Monitoring, Home Automation etc.
It provides an easy way to learn about the latest RF technologies. It gives access to all the necessary software and hardware components, such as transceivers, amplifiers, waveform generators, antennas, and the latest innovation in hardware and software as well as for Remote Control over Internet Protocol(RCIP).
The working mechanism of the ETRX3DVK-IHD is formulated of a three-layer structure beginning from the physical layer. The board requires 4 channels (5 MHz) for effective operation. Firstly, the board is designed with Waveform Generators that are responsible for generating high-frequency radio signals. The signals generated by these components are passed to the antenna, which then transmits them to the receiver. The receiver receives the signals from the antenna and decodes them. This decoding process is called demodulation. After demodulation, digital signals are sent to the microcontroller in order to perform various operations.
The controller then performs digital signal processing, including calculating the amplitude, frequency, and modulation, to control the Actuator and Sensors. The controller also reads data from a digital sensor, calculates its value, and stores it in the memory. In addition, the controller performs the functions of timing, power management, and status control. The output from the controller reaches the Zigbee controller, which has the capacity to transmit the data to another Zigbee controller. This wireless transmission of data is referred to as PAN (Personal Area Network).
The board also includes an on-board FTDI 2232H interface for connecting the board with a PC. The interface allows the user to control and configure the board parameters as well as for uploading or downloading the firmware.Finally, the board also has an on-board power supply which provides up to 6 channels. The channels are used to drive different components such as the processor, Zigbee module, the radio, and the Actuators and Sensors.
In conclusion, ETRX3DVK-IHD is a highly capable RF evaluation and development kit board that has a range of diverse applications. It is ideal for wireless development, particularly in areas such as smart grid, agriculture, building automation, smart LED lighting, industrial control and monitoring, and the home automation.
