EV1HMC8500LP5D RF Evaluation and Development Kit is based on the Skyworks (HMC8500LP5D) dual band (2.4GHz/5GHz) RF power amplifier (PA) and bias controller (BC). The power amplifier uses the complementary-gate metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) process, which is capable of providing exceptional linearity and efficiency. The bias controller is used to supply the necessary bias voltage to the power amplifier and optimize its performance.
The board consists of two sections, the RF section and the digital interface section. The RF section contains the PA, the BC, a matching network, and an RF filter. The PA is programmed via the BC to operate in either transmit (Tx) or receive (Rx) modes.
