The EVAL-ADXRS450Z-S is a single axis MEMS gyroscope evaluation platform from Analog Devices. It features a low noise, high precision gyroscope with high drive level, a wide power supply range, and on-board signal conditioning for direct data acquisition from the device. This evaluation board is designed to make measurements easier and is suitable for applications ranging from precision motion sensing to orientation detection. It is also suitable for applications such as vibration measurement in industrial, consumer, and automotive applications.The EVAL-ADXRS450Z-S evaluation board includes a low-noise, high-precision single-axis analog MEMS gyroscope, an on-board differential amplifier, and a 5V power supply. The gyroscope is a high-accuracy rate gyroscope with sensitivities of up to 0.50mV/V/s (2.0V max). It features a wide dynamic range of up to 180 dps and can measure angular rate over a range of +-50dps. The on-board differential amplifier has a wide dynamic range from 0.1V to 5V and can be used to monitor angular accelerations from 0.4mg to 600mg.The working principle of the EVAL-ADXRS450Z-S is based on a MEMS (Micro Electro-Mechanical System) gyroscope. It consists of two layers of silicon integrated together with micro-mechanical capacitive structures. When angular velocity is applied, each layer experiences a differential change in capacitance. This differential change in capacitance generates a signal that is proportional to the angular rate in the applied direction. The signal is passed through a differential amplifier and then conditioned through an analog-digital converter, or ADC. The ADC is used to measure the changed capacitance values and convert them into digital form.The EVAL-ADXRS450Z-S evaluation board is designed for use in applications requiring high accuracy even in the presence of noise and large temperature changes. These include applications such as aircraft navigation systems, inertial navigation systems, and motion control systems. Other applications include safety control systems, vibration measurement, and smartphone navigation.
