Working Principle

The working principle of the FAN4603MM13X is based on the synchronous buck switching topology. It consists of an inductor, two power switches, and an output diode. This topology is able to increase efficiency and lower thermal resistance.

The FAN4603MM13X features a fixed switching frequency of 300 KHz that reduces the size of the external components. It has a low quiescent current consumption of 19 µA (typ), and peak current mode control with programmable current limit function. It is also capable of providing fast transient response, protecting faults from output over voltage, under-voltage, over-load, and short-circuit conditions with an adjustable soft-start, and enabling power save mode to reduce power consumption.
