FSDH0065F is a mixed-signal integrated circuit, typically used in automotive electronics. It integrates protocol functions such as CAN, Ethernet, J1939, and LIN with an analog-to-digital converter (ADC), a digital-to-analog converter (DAC) and variable gain amplifiers (VGA). This device offers an efficient combination of features for automotive sensor processing, conditioning and networking.
The FSDH0065F provides four channels for analog input, two channels for analog output and three channels for digital communication. The analog inputs are compatible with most sensor classes such as galvanic or photoelectric, resistive, inductive, and thermoelectric. Each analog input channel is equipped with an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) for signal conversion. Two of the ADC channels are operable in either the unipolar (0 to 5V) or the bipolar (-5V to 5V) modes.
The two analog output channels offer a variety of features to generate the required output signals for different automotive applications. The output signals are generated by a combination of two DACs, programmable voltage-controlled amplifiers (VCAs) and passive components. The DACs offer a fixed resolution of 12 bits and are operable up to a maximum frequency of 200 kHz. The two channels are configured in either single channel mode (1 signal) or split channel mode (2 signals). The VCAs offer a maximum gain of 32 dB and are configured to accept a 7-bit resolution input signal.
The digital communication side of the FSDH0065F offers three channels for Controller Area Network (CAN), Ethernet, J1939 and LIN protocols. All digital channels are fully compatible with the relevant industry protocols. TheCAN interface is compatible with standard CAN, CAN-FD, CAN-GPRS and CAN-CRX protocols. The Ethernet interface supports 100BASE-TX,1000BASET-X and 10GBASE-T specifications. The J1939 interface supports SAE J1939_91 and SAE J1939_84 specifications. The LIN interface supports LIN-2.x, LIN-SLIP and LIN-TP-UART specifications.
The FDSH0065F combined with its internal conditioning, networking and multiplexing functionality provides a flexible solution, allowing the changing of automotive sensors in real-time. From the analog inputs, it is able to get the signal from the sensors. Next, it will do some conditioning before convert it into digital form and send the signals to the digital communication side. Then, data will be sent to different ECUs via the different protocols. Furthermore, communication data can also be multiplexed into analog signals for ECUs or external controllers. All in all, the FSDH0065F provides an ideal solution for Conditioning, Protocols and Networking in automotive electronics.
