Feed Through Capacitors are components which utilize a high-frequency electric field produced by a charged electrical conductor to complete the electrical connection of an electrically isolated circuit element, such as an air or cable gap. The current flows between the two layers, forming a dielectric layer which behaves as an insulator, forming an electrical barrier between the two layers. The dielectric layer allows the capacitance of the capacitor to be changed by altering the electrical field produced between the two plates.At high frequencies, the dielectric layer behaves as the capacitor’s active element, providing extremely high levels of isulation, high precision impedance matching, and low noise performance.
