The FOD8318R2V is a high performance, high frequency, and low noise gate driver isolator designed to meet the needs of the most demanding Solid State Relay (SSR) applications. This isolator features an active power switch output with an internally fixed 5 volt VCC independent of the input voltage, and is capable of driving a wide range of Gate Drivers from simple MOSFETs to high voltage insulated gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs). With its low on-resistance, an operating temperature range from -40°C to +105°C, and an isolation voltage of 4000 VAC, the FOD8318R2V is the ideal choice for isolating and driving high voltage devices in a wide variety of circuits.
The FOD8318R2V is a part of the Isolators- Gate Drivers family. As its name implies, this type of device provides an electrical isolation between its input and output. This is achieved through the use of an electrical insulation barrier, such as an opto-coupler or other isolation medium.
