Working Principle

The basic principle of a full-wave diodes rectifier is to convert alternating current (AC) into direct current (DC). The FR6A02 rectifier performs this task via the use of two parallel diodes. During operation, the two diodes alternately become forward-biased and then reverse-biased.

When the voltage across the two diodes is positive, the anode and cathode of the diode are forward-biased and electricity flows from the anode to the cathode, producing a current pulse. When the voltage across the two diodes is negative, the anode and cathode of the diode are reverse-biased and electricity does not flow. During this period, the diode acts as an insulator and the current flow is terminated.

The alternating current is converted to direct current via the rectification process and the resulting direct-current output has a waveform that varies only slightly from true DC. This waveform can be used to power any DC-powered application with a voltage rating that is compatible with the output voltage of the FR6A02.
