The FR6G02 is a single rectifier diode commonly used in a wide range of applications. It is capable of managing up to 6 A of average current and 8 A of peak surrent. It is typically used in high-efficiency AC-DC and DC-DC rectification, and also to perform reverse voltage protection tasks. The FR6G02 can also be used for snubbing and Reverse Current Block (RCB) circuits.The FR6G02 is a single-phase, low-profile device with a maximum package height of 1.2 mm. It has three electrical terminals (anode, cathode, and the center Cathode Tapping point). The two outer terminals are used for DC current flow, while the center Cathode tapping point is used for reducing the device forward voltage drop. It is commonly used in board level applications, such as power supplies or battery chargers, due to its low profile and small size.The FR6G02 is designed with a very wide range of operating voltages, ranging from 600V up to 1200V. In addition, the device has a fast-recovery time of just 4 nanoseconds (nS). It also has a low forward voltage drop of just 1.9V at 20°C. The FR6G02 is constructed using a silicon-carbide construction and is also RoHS compliant.The principle of operation of the FR6G02 is quite straightforward. When the anode is positively charged and the cathode is negatively charged, the diode conducts current with very low resistance. This is known as a forward bias condition. When the anode and cathode are charged with the same polarity (either both are positive or both are negative) the diode does not conduct current, and this is known as a reverse bias condition. The low forward voltage drop of the FR6G02 is primarily due to the design of the internal construction, which includes the use of a large-area silicon-carbide junction.The FR6G02 is ideal for use in high-efficiency AC-DC and DC-DC rectification tasks in applications such as power supplier and battery charger designs. It can also be used in snubbing and Reverse Current Block (RCB) circuits. In addition to its great efficiency, the FR6G02 also offers a very low forward voltage drop and fast-recovery time.
