FSA110K8X is a chip specially designed for Automotive Ethernet applications. It is an innovative and efficient CAN, CAN FD and Ethernet transceiver that can be used in various automotive application fields. FSA110K8X Application Field
FSA110K8X provides a full range of communication interfaces, mainly support Automotive Ethernet, ITU-T G.703, CAN protocol (including the new CAN FD protocol), and FLExRay specifications. This chip provides up to three pairs of MII/RGMII/RMII/SGMII interfaces for automotive Ethernet to support a range of operating speeds. It also provides one general controller area network (CAN) interface that supports both CAN 2.0B and CAN FD, plus one FLExRay interface. In addition to communication interface support, the FSA110K8X also supports multiple automotive communication technologies, including functions related to time-sensitive networking (TSN), real-time Ethernet synchronization, and the fail-operational application communications of redundant communication networks. Using the accuracy and reliability of time synchronization, the chip can provide TSN and time synchronization optimization, which helps to improve the performance of industrial control networks and data exchange performance.Due to its efficient communication functions and high-performance design, FSA110K8X can be widely used in different automotive markets, such as automotive cell technology, semi-autonomous vehicles, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, road traffic intelligence and safe city system. FSA110K8X is based on a 32-bit ARM Cortex-R5 processor core with a transmission rate of up to 300MHz. It also integrates with a high-performance PHY, an analog front-end (AFE), and an embedded MAC layer.Firstly, the PHY handles all the physical connection processes from the lower layer. It provides an interface between the physical medium and the FSA110K8X\'s controller. Secondly, the AFE amplifies and processes the weak signals from the external electrical environment and converts them into digital signals suitable for the controller. Thirdly, the embedded MAC layer handles all the control of packet data transfer.In addition to these three layers, the FSA110K8X also adopts a 32-bit ARM Cortex-R5 processor core as the main Control Engine of the chip, which has a transmission rate of up to 300MHz. The processor core supports both multicore mode and single-core mode, and provides the maximum speed depending on the different systems and applications.According to the application requirements of the system, the chip can process the packet data sent in the same period and complete data communication.
