- FSCR-G Application Field FSCR-G (Fiber-optic Self-healing-ring-based Dual Wavelength Cross-referred Network) is an optical fiber communication network. It can establish dual-fiber rings, make maximum use of the transmission capacity of fibers, and perform real-time self-healing at the interval of less than 20ms.FSCR-G networks have a wide application field. The FSCR-G optoelectronic devices can be used in various aspects, such as long-distance optical fiber communication, optical fiber local area network (LAN), data transmission, metropolitan area network (MAN), and others. FSCR-G also has a wide application in cable and satellite television industry, such as cable network access, video-on-demand (VOD), real-time monitoring and so on. That’s why it is an ideal solution for today’s large-capacity telecom networks with rapid expansion and flexible maintenance.
- FSCR-G Working Principle The working principle of FSCR-G can be divided into two parts: bypass protection and dual-frequency time division multiplexing (TDM).Bypass protection can achieve fast switching of the signal from the interrupted bidirectional optical fiber within the ring, and the amplitude will not be affected during the switching. The broken linear part of the optical fiber will be bypassed by using optical couplers and transition switches. An optical add-drop multiplexer (OADM) will be used to add the signal to the existing fiber. The dual-frequency TDM system is used to transmit the downstream signal on one wavelength, and the upstream signal on the other wavelength in the same fiber. Data transfer process is completed by using two optical sources with different wavelengths. The downstream signal is divided into multiple logical PDH signals, sent on one wavelength, and then the multiple logical PDH signals are multiplexed into an OTN frame. It is transmitted on the other wavelength. This way upstream/downstream signals can be multiplexed into the same fiber simultaneously.Thanks to the advanced time division demarcation technology, FSCR-G is able to provide multicast packet switching in the same ring. The logic connection between two adjacent nodes can also be built over a ring, thus setting up logical channels over which to transmit voice, data, image, and video signals. Overall, FSCR-G’s fast switching speed and low latency make it a great choice for metropolitan and wide area optical fiber communication networks.
