The FSFM300N, manufactured by ON Semiconductor, is an integrated offline switcher. It is a quasi-resonant ac-dc converter and is designed to convert an input voltage of 90-264V AC to a single output voltage ranging from 3.3V to 50V. It is suitable for general series applications such as adapters, gaming systems, TVs and monitors, lighting, and motor drives. This device is cost-effective, efficient and highly reliable due to its multiple protection features, such as overvoltage protection, short circuit protection, and current limit protection.

The FSFM300N block diagram is given below. It comprises rectifier, controller, driver, and on/off switch stage. It has an integrated PFC, LDO, and EMI filter as shown in the diagram.

The PFC (Power Factor Correction) stage is a mosfet-based one-stage preregulator which is powered by an external MOSFET, integrated clamp, and compensation.
