The FSSH0366G is a dual output isolated flyback converter IC designed for applications including portable devices and adapter power supplies. It is designed to reduce system cost by eliminating bulky external components and reducing the number of external components needed to support a wide range of output voltages, current levels and features. By combining the FSSH0366G with an external transformer and switching FET, non-isolated point of load regulators can be designed to efficiently and accurately delivers multiple output voltage rails to the application.The flyback topology provides a highly versatile and cost-effective solution for many power conversion scenarios. Flyback converters offer the benefits of being extremely efficient, having small footprints, and eliminating the need for bulky external components, such as bulky discrete inductors. They are particularly well-suited to powering non-isolated point of load regulators in applications requiring multiple output rails.The FSSH0366G is designed to meet the needs of a wide range of applications. It is available in a wide variety of input and output voltages, current levels, and features. It is designed with a dual output, isolated flyback converter that enables multiple output voltage rails to be generated from a single primary winding of the power transformer. The primary side regulator and control loop keep the output voltage regulated to within +/-1% of the programmed output voltage throughout the entire load range.The FSSH0366G also provides user-programmable features such as soft start-up, current limiting, overvoltage and overcurrent protection, and remote enable and disable. It also has an integrated power good signal that can be used to monitor the device and alert an external system when the output is out of spec. Additionally, the device can be programmed via the I2C interface.The FSSH0366G is capable of delivering up to 2A of continuous current on each output. The device is available in an 8-pin SOIC package with a total footprint of just 7mm x 7mm, allowing for space savings in a variety of applications.
