FSSL024NF

FSSL024NF is an integrated single-phase full-bridge rectifier module composed of four intelligent power switches (IPM) designed to work in line frequency range 0 to 400Hz. This module is used in high frequency AC-DC conversions and provides high power density, following the state-of-the-art thermal design. By combining good efficiency and the availability of a wide range of output current, input voltage and output voltage configurations, FSSL024NF is an ideal choice for power storage, power conditioning, driving of DC-motors and uninterruptible power supplies applications which require high efficiency, reliability and performance.

The main features of the FSSL024NF include its full output voltage range: 0-400V, precise output voltage control, high frequency operation (0-400Hz), high efficiency up to 98.5%, soft switching of all switches at low output voltage, low power dissipation, high power density, high reliability and wide operating temperature range (extended range from 0-140).

The FSSL024NF has an operating principle based on the synchronous rectification techniques. In this configuration, the IPM devices are connected in pairs to form two full bridges that are connected back to back for double-sided synchronous rectification. The input voltage is connected to one of the IPM bridges and this voltage is rectified and stored in a DC link capacitor. When the IPMs are switching and the DC link capacitor is charged, the IPMs are closed. As the capacitor discharges, the IPMs are open and the current in the DC link capacitor is aligned in the opposite direction. This process is repeated, resulting in a high efficiency DC output without switching losses.

The FSSL024NF comes with a variety of protection features, including an input under-voltage protection that prevents the module from being damaged in the event of input voltage drops, a short-circuit protection that keeps the supply voltage from dropping below the specified minimum level, and an over-temperature protection that shuts off the module if the module temperature exceeds a certain level.
